The constant high, and spiking latency makes PvP and tanking very frustrating at times. I dual boot between Vista and XP, and while normally game in XP, I see this same latency issue in Vista as well.Īny help identifying the issue would be much appreciated. I've cleared my game cache, Interface addons, even removed everything so that it was like a fresh install. I've also applied the recommend network card settings ( ), to no avail. I've ensured that my router has all WoW related ports pointed to the computer running the game, that a firewall isn't blocking the ports. It doesn't happen nearly often enough to be an explanation for my issue. Periodically they'll be some packet loss reported ( 10% ) at 3.net, but I believe that's just the routing server not responding to constant ping requests, on purpose. Here is also a copy of a current PingPlotter report: Sometimes I see some packet loss issues, which might be routers just not always responding to constant ping requests, but always see very good response time. I've been monitoring traceroutes to my server, Arthas ( 206.16.23.55 ) since this started happening. I use a cast bar addon that shows current live latency at the start of a cast, and with playing around with that I see that my ping actually fluctuates a lot between 90 and 950 or so. I always have a ping in game of between 200 and 500. Sometimes I see some packet loss issues, which might be routers just not always responding to constant ping requests, but. Perhaps another test I could to to determine if the problem is something on our end, like a bad cable, or if there are issues with Verizons networks being overcrowded or just bad and whether we should just switch to comcast.Over the past few weeks I've been trying to get to the bottom of a latency issue that started happening, for why I can't figure out. Hello, Over the past few weeks Ive been trying to get to the bottom of a latency issue that started happening, for. I've tried 2 computers on this network both hardwired and both have the same results!Ī call with Verizon wasnt helpeful they said there is nothing wrong with our network so I'm looking for advice from those with more expertise that I in this area. There are also other hops to what I think are verizon servers (such as ) that has ~80% packet loss. Pinging shows ~80-95% packet loss to our router. It doesn't matter what I ping, this pattern. The latency I'm seeing seems much higher than what others are seeing. Much less packet loss, and still quite a bit of latency, but not much variation in latency. Pinging facebook shows ~35% packet loss to our router. Lots of packet loss, and lots of latency, that seem to originate a few hops in on Comcast's network. For example pinging shows 4-10% packet loss on the first hop, to our router. I've tried running ping plotter and it always shows high packetloss to our router. At that time and still now there are daily latency issues with my xfinity connection. My download speeds are normal (around 1 gbps) but when I play games online there is constant lag, games are often unplayable. I posted 6 months ago with the title of 'numerous uncorrectables'. I'm hardwired but the problem of nonstop lag in games happens both on ethernet and on wifi. The router is a G3100 and we have fiber gigabit internet.
